Don’t focus on what you want your hair to do; focus on what it’s already doing on its own.
It is most likely already beautiful.

I’ve found this to be true
Kiki Smith, American, born Germany (Nuremberg, Germany, 1954), Lilith, 1994
Sculpture | bronze and glass
Lilith is a character from Jewish legend, Adam’s first wife, who, because she was created equally from dust, refused to take a subordinate role and was expelled from Eden. While accounts about Lilith vary, most sources agree she became a demon of the night and the air who obsessively sought revenge for her punishment. (via musiquedance)
Excuse my while I have an aneurysm at this gorgeous, iridescent display of black beauty.
lecoil: Catherine Malandrino’s Spring 09 presentation drew inspiration from a global sampling of nomadic cultures. One of the handful of themed groupings, entitled “Sundanese Clans,” just happened to have some of the coolest models (bias alert). And as if that wasn’t enough, while wandering around I realized that the show’s beautiful background music was provided by Celia of Les Nubians singing LIVE (!!!). The glory of fashion week at work.
This is the poem Invictus
by William Earnest Henley

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of Circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of Chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
